Neither Secure Boot nor TPM is essential to the day-to-day operation of the computer. The two are so non-essential that hardware vendors often disable them by default.
I've never used them, and virtually all Intel-based Mac computers don't have TPM. They are likely excuses for Microsoft to coerce users into getting new hardware unnecessarily.
My take is that Microsoft's artificial move will be the most significant cause of unnecessary e-waste in computing history.
Since its official release in October 2022, Windows 11 has undergone several major feature revisions, with the latest being 24H2, which indicates that its intended official release date is in the Fall of 2024.
